Which tool to Change Benz W204 mileage via OBD

There are lots of threads talking about Mercedes-Benz W204 mileage correction. Some use Digiprog 3 odometer programmer, some use VVDI mercedes or FVDI commander or original AVDI. So, which one should be best for W204 km change? Here you go…

How to correct Mercedes W212 odometer

I want to correct mileage on my W212 2013 year. Is only way to use MB CAN Filter?  I found some tutorial in carprog but doesn’t show steps with the mileage adjust. For example, if install mb can filter, do you still update ezs odometer value or just cluster? Yes I know AVDI Abrites original does it all, before you tell me, but can’t afford that software yet.

Anywhere else have to change it? Tire pressure sensors of transmission?

Customer solutions:

1.Late 2013 Mercedes W212 you need to correct odometer and install CAN Filter (EZS nothing).The can filter goes near the cluster. I have done with Yanhua Digimaster 3. It is not cheap. But I think at you can use digiprog 3. By the way, take backup from eeprom first.


2. If it is full color dashboard, digiprog 3 cant do it..

If it’s not facelift model (so before 2013) and use digiprog 3 v4.94, then you don’t need can filter/blocker.
But a can blocker is better to use all times, because if dealer reads the EZS it shows same mileage as in tacho, if you dont use can blocker then EZS shows 999999km.. (but normally dealers don’t read EZS, they only read ‘assyst manager’ when serviced).

To change mileage you need to use option ‘EZS’ in menu of mercedes w212 of digiprog III.. then it blocks ezs and changes tacho automatically.

If you roll back odometer to a lower mileage off last service, its best to delete service history in car. use option ‘assyst manager’. enter ‘744’ days and ‘25000’kms for next service warning, and press ‘V’ when it asks to delete service history.

When you have a diesel it probably gives DPF error in car. and the car will run in emergency-mode, only drives max 80kmh. digiprog can’t reset this. You have to go to dealer or someone else who can reset dpf.

When some other errors turn up in display use the ‘clr error’ option to reset.

What to do on pin 21 and 22 on the chip:

Buy yourself Xprog-M programmer, Carprog full, UPA USB.
Pin 21 and 22 jumper after programming or wait 10 minutes.


– with Digiprog 3:


Eprom,set type,mcu,hc12,read,save.
eprom,set type,mcu,hc12,file,load,write.

next page shows the pins 21 and 22 bridges.


Here necessarily the board from any power supply (Digiprog3 v4.94,

external power supply, etc.), Pin 21 + 22 bridge, and then you can use the tachometer

How to change Trailblazer 2002 KM with Digiprog 3 V4.94

Here is the customer solution to Chevrolet Trailblazer 2002 KM change with Digiprog 3 v4.94 odometer correction tool.


Many thanks to a well-known member in GMT nation forum who achieved this.

Digiprog3 and ST 01/2 cable used is China clone.

The entire kit cost $169, with a set of cables and adapters. But i don’t think everyone should buy the entire kit, for the main unit should come with ST01, ST04 cables, which will save $40. Of course you should use st01/ st04 or have other adapters in hand.

And here is some notes for doing this properly :-

  • For US users, please make sure to check the Voltage of the adapter before connecting to AC (use the one included with the unit as it’s 110-220 V ). Just to make sure you don’t fry your Digiprog iii programmer
  • Also for US users, Change the netric unit from KM to MPG or Vise Versa from MPG to KM; for European users, before reading or Writing on the Chip
  • Very Very important to connect the programmer clip as per the pictures attached where the Red Color pin in the Clip is Up (See the picture above)
  • Before assembling the cluster back together connect it to the car first and check the mileage reading before installing needles back and installing the whole cluster back to the car
  • Also Very Very Very Important that you always save the old chip data in the DP3 programmer for any thing goes wrong so you can write it back if needed or even if someone fried his chip and needed to install new chip it will be really easy to write it back
  • if you needed any time to restart again or your Digiprog got stuck while working simply take out the Power plug and reinsert it again to restart the programmer (Never ever unplug AC power Plug when odometer correction tool is reading or Writing on the EEPROM CHIP otherwise you will destroy it)

Digiprog 3 V4.94 error

I bought Digiprog 3 v4.94 update software and followed the instruction to update my digiprog3 on WinXP laptop. But when run Digiloader1.exe file, the windows reports an error "List index out of bounds (-1)" (error screens taken below)











3 possible reasons:
1.You did not disable anti-virus program. Digiloader file was killed by virus.
2.His WinXP is not compatible with the digiprog3 4.94 update software. 
3. The update file is not complete. 

Contact your dealer to check if your problem came with files,if yes,ask them to re-send the update

NOTE: Tips for Using Digiprog III:

  1. Always connect the Eeprom to the ST01 or ST04 before you connect to the DigiProg this will avoid Electro static feedback (ESD).
  2. Never solder the connections whilst the lead is connected to the programmer, this will damage the DigiProg.
  3. Always keep your DigiProg 3 in its case when not in Use & keep it in a dry environment at night (don’t leave it in the trunk of your car) If you are using solvents to remove lacquers’ from Eeprom’s ensure that they are cleaned
  4. completely as the solvent can damage the clips.

Digiprog 3 or digimaster 3, let's tell from real experience

Post collect some typical customer feedback on digiprog 3 and Yanhua digimaster III byobd365, especially their difference in mileage correction function.
Part 1: Customer Feedbacks go as follows:

1. Digimaster 3 feedback:
1) I started with digimaster 3 about three years back, could not do many cars it claims to do. so customers go to someone else and never come back. it does however have other functions like key programming of some cars and immo/airbag clear.
2) I Think Digimaster Is Better At Chip Programming it can even make some mb keys (sometimes damage eis flash).
2. Digiprog3 feedback: Digiprog is good tool for mileage programming. I use it almost every day and it causes me absolutely nothing wrong.
2. digimaster3 vs Digiprog 3:
1) I think digimaster is not worth the money (only if you do BMW). can;t do many more cars then digiprog, and often need to desolder.
digiprog can do a lot of cars. even mercedes 2010 by obd.
Best is to buy Yanhua digiprog if you can find them (its better quality).
The cheap digiprog from alipress often stop working. sometimes right out of the box, sometimes after 2 years.
If you’re thinking about spending 1500 euro then I’d suggest x-tool!
xtool can do more cars with obd (also renault kia hyundai volvo) and it can change mileage in ecu for fiat alfa lancia opel vw. also airbag crash reset and immo off and radio code read.
but xtool cant do w204 w212 w221 w207..
If want to start and not spend very much money you should buy digiprog, if you want more you can buy xtool later.
2) I have both digimaster latest one yanhua as well as digiprog latest one yanhua. 50% of the cars that digiprog do the digimaster does not especially VW, Audi, Benz.
30% of the cars that digiprog can’t do the digimaster does. These cars are French, Italian, Japan, and China cars.
I believe that digimaster is only good for BMW cars that is all.
Not worth to buy at all. Dont waste your money. Digiprog is good for cars 2003-2009 mostly by obd. For VW is the best tool. BENZ is ok does 2007-2009 w212, w204, W221. Audi can handle pretty good mostly a4,a6,a6 2004-2008. Risky a bit on a3.

Part 2: Digiprog 3 V4.94 Feedback on what works and does not work
1. Digiprog 4.94 tested ok results:
1) For VW, Audi, Skoda vehicles:
VW Tiguan 2007 —> OBD OK
VW Passat 2007 —> OBD OK
Seat MII 2013 —> OBD Work
passat 2011 work obd 5 min
passat 2012 work obd
passat cc 2012 work obd
jetta 2012 work obd
Skoda Superb (3t) II 2009y only by obd less then 5min
A6, 2009 work OBD, 4-5 minute.

Volkswagen Eos obd2 ——ok
Skoda Roomster 2009 —> Diag work Perfect
vw eos 2007 —> Diag obd2 work
Skoda octavia 2009 1.9tdi instrument ok, ecu ok, dsg reset ok
SKODA Fabia 2009 obd ok. fabia -diag-read ?-write ok. (digi4.94)
Golf 6 2012 obd ok
Passat 2011 menu dash diag -2012 read ok/write ok /3 minute.
audi a4 2010 obd ok, audi a3 2010 obd ok
no problem with audi a3 for now 2011 and 2010 doing ok by obd
passat 2006 dash work
golf 2007: dash and dsg ok
300 m 2009 ok
jetta 2014: ok test Many Time always ok
tiguan 2009: ok test Many Time always ok
wrangler 2012 ok
Golf 4 MM Just open dash en look voor 24C** it takes 2 minutes
passat 2011 work by OBD
Vw Jetta 2013 take golf 6 on car list. Work fine 2 minutes
skoda superb 2011 nec+24c64 obd works fine.
digiprog 3 test on volvo
-Works 100% polo 6N 2001 – diagnostic -ST16 – doesn’t show old mileage but writes perfect – on cluster display where mileage shows while writing it shows error for about 5sec then check written value on DigiRemember to reset service reminder.

VW Tiguan 2011 OBD no problem, takes about 10 minutes
VW evoque 2012 work by OBD
2) For BMW vehicles:
BMW E46 2004 —> 35080 Clip Work
3) For Ford vehicles:
Ford Fiesta 2012 —> OBD OK
Ford Fiesta HCS12 —> ST48 Work
2012 Ford Focus – 95320 – by ST1 work ok
4) For Mitsubishi:
For read & write correct Mileage use
Mitsubishi Outlander 93C86 V2 —> Work Perfect on Peugeot 4007 2012
5) For Mercedes Benz:
w211 2005 dash via st60 read ok/write ok/ezs sync blocked ok.
E39 m5 dash done with digi using st47
MERCEDES w210 E – DB 4_99 with Stecker 10 , ok!
6) For Opel:
-Opel Vivaro 2013 —> EEPROM Clip work 93c76
-Astra J 2011 work by OBD.
-Opel Insignia 2014 —> OBD Work perfect

Fiat Grande Punto EVO 2011 dash– obd OK…. fiat doblo
Fiat Ducato 2012 work perfect OBD

Successfully made chevrolet orlando like a opel insignia
Digiprog read/write 35080 for 100%.

Nissans: 2002 Altima 93C66 OK in circuit with Murano; 2001 Xterra 93c56 OK unsolder with Patrol
Toyota RAV 4 2007 —> eeprom clip 93c56 work

2. Digiprog V4.94 tested fail result:
Digi can not do some Golf 6 and Polo Dash by obd.
Digi can do only VDO dash Golf 6 by obd, not Magneti Marelli.
A3 sportback 2009. killed
Focus 2011 not work
Part 3: Digimaster 3 tested success and failure results
1. DIGIMASTER 3 tested success results mainly for BMW and Benz
1) For Mercedes Benz
-Benz E63 2010 W204 EZS – Cluster OBD ok
-Digimaster is hit or miss on everything. I’ve been using the Digimaster 3 for several years now.
I got the DSPIII and use that for almost everything now.
– Benz 2004 C180 W203 Dash Ezs – OBD no good.
Dash Ezs – programmed manually – good
-Benz 2004 C180 Compressor W203 – OBD no good.
Dash Ezs – programmed manually – good.
-Done Mercedes E270 2005 W211 by obd, and it was ok.
2) For BMW:
– 2009 1 series E88 CAS-DASH OK
-BMW & MERCEDES ecu cloning 29f800 good
-BMW F10 CAS4 + Dash Ok
3) For VW
-2012 vw polo obd ok
-Digimaster3 on 2011 Audi A5 – DASH – OBD2 – OK!
– volvo s80 2003 wires direct – good
– I did programme a 1999 s500 key with it
– I use it for toyota corolla
– digimaster 3 does have other functions like key programming of some cars and immo/airbag clear.

Cluster Plug no good ! Cluster eeprom Good !
Cas BDM Adaptor faulty ! Tried another bdm adaptor and worked.
Ford Fiesta 2009 obd-No Good Obp-No Good
mb a class a170 wires direct – Not good
